Setup Steps
1) Remove Windows S Mode
Not all laptops are in S Mode. If you open the the Microsoft Store to switch out of S Mode and see an error, or it says S Mode is not active — that's fine! Your laptop is already ready. Just skip ahead to Step 2.
Your laptop may have shipped with Windows S Mode enabled. S Mode limits the laptop to apps from the Microsoft Store only, which prevents installing the school software you'll need. Switching out of S Mode is free, permanent, and only takes a minute.
Click the button below to open the S Mode removal page directly in the Microsoft Store. If that link doesn't work, Microsoft sometimes changes their process — use the fallback link instead.
Tip: Once you click "Get" or "Switch" in the Store page, simply follow the on-screen prompts. Your laptop does not need to restart to complete this step.
2) Install Google Chrome
Chrome is the recommended browser for Eachieve's online learning platforms. Download Chrome directly from Google using the button below.
3) Install Zoom
Zoom is used for live class sessions, teacher office hours, and school events. Install the Zoom desktop app — not just the browser version — so all features work correctly.
You're all set!
Once all three steps are complete, your laptop is ready for school. If you run into any trouble, reach out to your teacher or the Eachieve technology helpdesk for assistance.
